It’s not just because Delta 8 is the latest cannabinoid to hit the open market that this compound has quickly gained popularity. Trends are all well and good but at Fern Valley Farms we are more about results than the latest fad everyone is talking about.
And the results from consuming Delta 8 products have been fabulous, to say the least! The merging of Delta 8 with CBD (and sometimes CBG) appears to deliver next-level effects for many of our satisfied customers, better emphasizing and highlighting the varied benefits that CBD, CBG, and other cannabinoids deliver to your endocannabinoid system.
We already tested the waters with a purely Delta 8 product; our first batch of Delta 8 gummies (containing only the Delta 8 THC compound with no other cannabinoids) quickly sold out, setting a Fern Valley Farms record for the quickest depletion of an inventory item since we began operations. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to put two and two together; just as quickly as our inventory of gummies emptied out, we learned that you, our valued and discerning customers, both want and can handle unadulterated versions of Delta 8 THC.
Meet Delta 8 Distillate!
With an impressive 96.81% Delta 8 THC content, undiluted by other cannabinoids, this distillate puts you in control of how you want to consume it: on its own or mixed with other cannabinoids.
This product is delivered to you in syringes which allows you to more accurately measure the desired amount you wish to use in a given session.
DELTA 8 THC IS NOTICEABLY STRONGER THAN CBD OR CBG! Unlike CBD and other popular cannabinoids (such as CBG and CBN), this distillate consists of Delta 8 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is similar to Delta 9 THC in that it can trigger psychoactive effects. Most users describe the effects of Delta 8 THC as milder and less erratic than Delta 9 THC, but consumers unfamiliar with Delta 9 THC products should take extra caution when consuming this Delta 8 distillate.
For your first time consuming this Delta 8 distillate, we recommend you begin low and slow. With a potency exceeding 96%, each milliliter is packing a whopping 960mg of Delta 8 THC. This means squeezing out 1/10th of a milliliter gives you a solid 96mg of Delta 8 THC to work with, which is more than sufficient for most consumers.
When first consuming this product, please wait at least 30 minutes (preferably one hour) before consuming more Delta 8 THC or other cannabinoids. By limiting your experience to the Delta 8 distillate alone, you are better able to assess its full effects on you. As with any cannabinoid, each person responds differently. While we can report general effects experienced by other consumers, your own experience may differ greatly.
Working With Delta 8 Distillate
If you have never worked with Delta 8 distillate, be forewarned that it has very high viscosity compared to many distillates and extracted oils you may have previously used. This means that at room temperature it is too thick and sticky to express out of the tip of the syringe.
Fortunately, the solution is simple and easy: merely warm up the syringe in hot water for about a minute and you will find the distillate will freely flow as you press the syringe. Another working solution is to lay the syringe on a warm electronic device, such as the cable box for your TV. Either method raises the temperature enough to lower the viscosity. Do keep in mind that as the distillate returns to room temperature it will again become thick and sticky, so applying it quickly to its final destination (food, liquid, vaping device, etc.) is recommended.
When not in use, the high viscosity of this Delta 8 distillate actually works to your advantage as it’s not likely to leak from the syringe.
Learn More About Delta 8 THC
To gain a greater understanding and appreciation of Delta 8 THC, we recommend our article entitled “Investigating Delta 8 THC” that dives deeper into this new and fascinating cannabinoid. For many CBD consumers, Delta 8 THC has become another important and effective cannabinoid in their overall wellness regimen; as with other cannabinoids, it likely benefits our endocannabinoid system in ways research has not yet discovered.
How to Use Delta 8 Distillate
One advantage of Delta 8 THC in a distillate form is the variety of methods you can employ to consume it. The most popular ways to consume Delta 8 distillate include:
- Cooking and Baking – it is easy to add drops to any recipe and works as effectively as cannabinoid-infusion techniques without requiring extra labor and attention
- Orally – add a drop or two to bread or a piece of fruit; if mixing into a beverage, stick with warm and hot drinks so it remains blended with the liquid longer
- Smoking – you can treat a CBD bud with a droplet (let it dry before grinding!) or smear the distillate across rolling papers when making joints
- Sublingually – once warmed, place a drop or two under the tongue, and it will be delivered to your endocannabinoid system the same way a tincture is
- Vaporizing – any device designed to consume concentrated materials will work; it can also be added to a cartridge but must be warmed before each use for best performance
Once again we want to emphasize the higher and stronger Delta 8 THC content found in this distillate as compared to any of our other Delta 8 products. Our Delta 8 Gummies (which also offers pure Delta 8 THC without other cannabinoids) come in much smaller strengths than even 1/10th of a milligram of this Delta 8 Distillate; this is why we urge extra caution when consuming this potent yet effective product.
Possible Effects From Delta 8 THC
The most noticeable effects produced by Delta 8 THC are psychotropic. This usually results in an initial headrush along with a recognizable shift in mood and attitude. Feeling lightheaded and giggly can occur for some while others may find themselves becoming more introspective. Different circumstances and environments can change effects and results, while different methods of consumption can deliver effects more effectively and faster than other methods.
When consumed in its purest form by vaporizing, expect a mild earthy flavor. Just a small puff with a vaporizer can produce strong vapor clouds, so again we urge you to exercise caution when vaporizing Delta 8 THC distillate. When consumed in foods or drinks, its flavor is mild enough that stronger flavors will likely mask the earthy taste. When adding to a fresh CBD hemp flower strain, expect it to deepen and enhance the existing strain flavors while bringing a slightly sweet tinge.
Remember to start low and go slow!
Toning Down Delta 8 THC Effects
Despite precautions, do not be surprised if once in a while you find yourself overwhelmed by the effects of Delta 8 THC. It can easily happen for a variety of reasons but fortunately, there are multiple tactics you can employ to counter such a situation, including:
- Breathing – controlled breathing can slow a racing heart and calm a disturbed mind
- CBD – a great way to offset THC effects (both Delta 8 and 9) happens to be CBD
- Furry Friends – getting comfort from the cats and dogs in your home can be very calming
- Hydrate – avoid dehydration by keeping a good supply of fresh water at your side
- Lemon Juice – the calming limonene terpene found in lemon juice can ease anxiety
- Pine Nuts – filled with pinene, famous for helping you calm down
- Talk – connecting with a friend or family member can give you assurance and a new outlook
- Walk – getting outside and moving around in the fresh air can ground you
Once you find what works best for you (often a combination of the above tips), be sure to have a ready supply for those times you may need it. Over time, you will learn to better manage your consumption of Delta 8 distillate, leading to fewer overwhelming experiences.
